Edinburgh and the
Scottish Highlands
with Military Tattoo

July 29 - August 7, 2022

This is going to be an amazing club trip. To confirm, club trips are internally developed and managed, and is not handled by an outside tour company. Think of this trip more as traveling and exploring with friends - old and new. Price includes round trip air from New York.

On Friday, July 29, 2022 we'll all meet in New York and board our overnight flight to Edinburgh Scotland. We'll spend four days and three nights soaking up all the experiences this city offers. To me it is the most interesting destination possible.

Friday - Board an overnight flight to Scotland.

Saturday - Arrive in Edinburgh late morning and check into our hotel on the Royal Mile in the heart of the old city. The rest of the day is open for us to explore.

Sunday - Today we take a guided tour of the mountain-top Edinburgh Castle and Old Town, including the Royal Mile. We'll arrive back at our hotel mid-afternoon. After relaxing, we'll experience an authentic Scottish meal, including wine, at the home of a local.

Monday - At the other end of the Royal Mile is Holyroodhouse, summer residence of Queen Elizabeth. Today we'll visit this magnificent palace and environs.

Tuesday to Thursday - We'll join an organized 3-day tour of the Isle of Skye and the Scottish Highlands. During our visit to Scotland's wild northwest coast, you’re driven through the Highlands, including stops at Glencoe and Loch Ness. Stay overnight with daily breakfasts in the harbor town of Portree, where you find local pubs and have plenty of time to explore the Isle of Skye with your guide.

  • 3-day small-group tour from Edinburgh to the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye with an expert guide

  • Admire the spectacular landscapes and lochs of the Scottish Highlands on a scenic drive

  • Stop at Loch Ness to watch for its fabled monster, 'Nessie'

  • Spend two nights in Skye’s picturesque capital, Portree, in your choice of either a B&B or 3-star hotel

  • Travel in a top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach

Friday - On Friday we'll return to our Edinburgh hotel for a once-in-a-lifetime treat: The Royal Edinburgh Military tattoo is an annual series of Military tattoos performed at the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and International military bands and display teams. This is held during the month of August each year which coincides with the Fringe Festival and International Festival. This really is a must when visiting Edinburgh and really provides for the experience of a lifetime. Dress warmly for the outdoors as the seating in the esplanade is uncovered.

Saturday - Today is left open. We can as a group decide to spend the day shopping, or we can take a day excursion to Glasgow or one of a number of nearby destinations.

Sunday - We'll pack our bags and board a morning flight home, arriving the same day.
